Color temp of white bulbs is approx 6000K, but they also have 6000K HID bulbs so you can get a good color match.
Aipex8...the above was from your OP. Please forgive me but my head is spinning from trying to follow this 29 page thread and all its updates lol. Does the above imply that if your looking to match your new LEDS to the factory HID headlights that you should order the LEDS in 6000k?? I was going to go your route and start by swapping the factory HIDs for 6000Ks....but decided against it. Bottom line...Im lookin to match all around to the factory HIDs...which you stated were 4300K and close to "pure white".

All I did was the inner parking lights though.

Also...clearly resistors do a good enough job protecting the LEDs but some of you dont use resistors and havent had any issues. Instead of resistors I was curious if a grounding kit would do anything to curb the voltage spikes.

well I contacted V-LED's about my two dim lights and they are sending me replacements which is awesome, thanks for the tip aipex.
Also I'm not using resistors I dont know if that has to do with my defective lights but it shouldn't vled's said that shouldnt be the case

Yeah, great customer service there at V-LEDS. You don't need resistors, you probably just had a bit of bad luck and got a couple defective bulbs. From my experience, if the bulbs are going to go bad, you will usually see it right away so just keep an eye on them for the first few days and look for any flickering or anything.

The bulb replacements shouldn't need resistors at all if they're designed right. I think a lot of the early modules were designed on the edge though, and resistors helped to get them into the safe zone. Seems that most of the newer modules are better designed.

hey ive bought the same bulb as you did for your fogs and im excited to put them on. From reading, im aware I will have to remove the reflector cap within the fogs. what is the best way for me to do so?
#734
I removed mine by simply sticking my finger inside the housing and moving the cap up and down on the thin metal stalk that connects to it. eventually it will break off and you just pull the cap out (note that the cap is slightly larger than the hole, so you'll need to give it a squeez with a needle-nose first).

I'm in the market to replace my HID's now.
I wanted something that would give the look of the stock Merc/BMW HID's
dead on they give normal HID light, but from the side or at certain angles you get that purple and bluish flicker?
I'm not sure im describing it correctly, but if anyone knows sort of what i mean, or can point me in right direction as to what HID type and intensity to look for that would be great.
Currently I have the V-LED fogs and parking lights, and will probably go with the 6k white/blue HID from them as well unless someone can give me an idea of what to go with to acheive the above desired effect.
Thanks

The projector lens the RX-8 uses is a fresnel lens (has a ringed texture on it). A completely clear lens will give you a sharper cut off. Also, adding washers to space the bulb away from the cutoff shield by a couple mm's will add more blue to the cutoff border.
Of course to do this you will need to take your headlights apart which is a bit complicated.
Swapping to a 6000K bulb will give you more color to your lights though.

V-LEDS has new 7440 bulbs coming out.
These sound awesome. I'll be upgrading my current tail/brake lights to these as well as my signal and reverse lights.
Stay tuned for pics!
Coming Soon! This new HIGH POWER LED bulb will replace the standard 20 LED HIGH POWER that we currently sell.
This bulb features 345 Lumens of output! Compare that to the current versions 150 Lumens of output. Over double the light output with same number of LED's!!!
This new product will be available in 2-3 weeks. We will keep you updated on its availability.

Just a quick pic. I have access to a Nikon D3000 now, so eventually I'll be doing a full photoshoot of the car. I was just playing around a little last night, but didn't have a tripod with me. This one turned out pretty good though. Here you can see the new 194 parking lights. Retina burners!

How easy is it to install the Footwell LED's?
Also, I bought Tail Lights from V-LEDS and now everytime I apply the brake when my lights are off, it turns my running lights on until I let go of the brake. Does that happen with those Tail Lights? If it doesn't, then I am buying those right now.
