They are way brighter than the stock lights, which I'm sure is no surprise.

I did not remove the reflector as the lights had no trouble fitting in with it in place.
I do however think they block a fair amount of light and will probably remove them in the future as both of these led's are side firing and the reflector serves no purpose with them.

Yeah the $99 Price was just preorder price and was supposed to end August 1st. And yes I would have still paid $140 for them.

Anyone have an idea which brand would be good for an RX8 Series I w/o HIDs. I'm so confused on which to get, and from visiting my local store it sounds like they are just trying to scam me.. They want $300 installed.

Lightbulb What are you guys using for your parking LED's?

What are you guys using for your parking LED's? I was all over this thread but, as was mentioned earlier the links died when V-leads either changed the website name and domain, or discontinued certain products. I had a pair of 4 forward facing LED's from them and one died so I figured I would replace them. Also are you using "driving ic's"? something mentioned in the description?
I was thinking of these? 6K WHITE 4 LED 2W HIGH POWER BULBS 194 168 158 | 1 PAIR - White 6K - 194 - 168 - 158 LED - Miniature Wedge Base - Bulb Type
But they discussed "driving ic's" in the description so now I am confused as whether I can use it or not? I am also going to get some 6000K D2S new HID bulbs and just replace my old fog lamp bulbs that are aging and weak with some New Sylvania Silver Star ZXE or Ultras I don't want to buy HID for Fog as it hardly ever fogs up too bad here in Austin, Texas
I appreciate the input as I can't trace back to the older product posts or V-LEDS website.

I bought and installed those "high power" 194 bulbs and I honestly couldn't tell the difference between those and the $4.99 bulbs. A waste of $15 IMO.

Also just installed the new 5K 2 CREE LED H11 (lot of acronyms ha) foglights and I just gotta say wow! Super bright and white, they look amazing at night

I bought these vleds about 3 years ago. I installed them and 1 of them finally burned out. I purchased another 6K white pack for $17. Did it go up in price? Whatever, they were worth it.. I installed it and man, it doesn't seem as bright anymore. It's bright but not that WOW bright I used to get back then. My older vled looks brighter but less light output since it's 3 years old. If you know what I mean. Oh well.

I have a couple of questions:
1)I have the stock HID's, and I ordered the 6k parking lights to match, however, they look a bit off. With that in mind; would the 5k's be a closer match?

2)If the 5k's are a closer match: Is there a noticeable difference between the 5K WHITE 10 LED DRL/FOG LIGHT BULBS H11 | 1 PAIR - H11 - H Series - Bulb Number and the H11 5K CXA 2000LM | 1 PAIR - H11 - H Series - Bulb Number to justify the price differential?

3)Will the "level 5" brightness might be too much for fog lights when used as actual fog lights?

The guys with the V3 Tritons, where did you mount the control modules....pics? Also Aipex8 did you ever get the switchbacks wired up as DRL's? Do they turn off when the headlights turn on?

New Owner Looking for Info

I've been looking through the threads for a couple days now and I should be getting my RX-8 within the month and I'm trying to feel out all the different modifications I want to do for it. More specifically I'm trying to find information like what is outlined in the big LED thread that Aipex8 started and while helpful, the info seems rather outdated (many pictures not working/links not active) what are the best options for exterior lighting options on the RX-8? I've heard a lot about V-LED's and those seem to be on the higher end of my price range so what other reliable options are out there?

Looking to replace:
-Headlights
-Corner Lights
-Parking Lights
-Side Markers
-Brake Lights
-Reverse Lights

You get what you pay for. Don't expect any cheap ebay ones to last very long.

Got 3 sets of V3 Tritons in the mail today. Front switchback turn signals, rear turn signals, and rear brake lights. Going to wire the front switchbacks up as DRL.
For my reverse lights i just ended up getting the tower lights for now.

Sorry that post was supposed to be in the new members section, dont know why it posted to here

Is there a middle ground though? I don't trust Ebay buys but V-Leds are just more than I want to shell out (poor college student) something that may be cheaper than V-leds but more reliable than Ebay?

There probably is but there is a reason VLED's has a warranty. They actually stand behind their products. Just don't expect cheaper ones to last very long and save your stock bulbs just in case.

Your closest bet is superbrightleds.com which isn't all that cheaper than VLED's. If you're going to cheap out on LED's, do so only with miscellaneous ones that is not relevant to safety... Which pretty much leaves it to interior lights.

Has any of you guys heard of this LED? I did not see anyone mention this particular LED by Nokya, so I thought I bring it to people's attention (if they don't already know about it).

I just received a 194 chip from Xero in 6k..

How do i install this?

Do i need an adapter to convert the wiring from the cars existing wiring into something that can plug to a chip?

Do i cut the existing wires and solder the + and - onto the chip?

Do you mean a 194 led bulb? If so, it should be a direct replacement. If for some reason your bulb does not work, flip it over and retry it.

That board plugs into the socket for the bulb.

With the VLEDS or super bright LEDs, do you still have to run resistors?

Your question is vague. What application and what specific LED's?
