Whealy, is that just the reflection or is it not polished? Just a question, not try to talk crap. I love what you have done the engine bay! IT LOOKS TIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MikeA,

I tried to detail up the bay before I took the pic. Didn't look like it when I was taking the shoot, but it definitly looks like I smugged the heck out of the polished cover. I'll get better at detailing it. I was just worried about if it would start when I was taking this shot! The painted covers came out much better. It's amazing how dirtly the two side covers get.

Nah! Don't polish it. Paint it blue! Just like the others. I need to find a good red to match my car.

MikeB,

Thanks.

Well to be honest, this is the first intake I’ve ever installed on any of my cars. In the past, I heard mixed reviews about their effectiveness at reaching advertised HP and just never felt the expense was worth it. However, for this one, I like the engine bay look change as well. So my experience in my one drive so far would be limited.

I do know that when I got it into upper RPM with the throttle opened up, I thought I had installed something wrong. Couldn’t believe how loud it was compared to the previous setup. Sounded to me like I had put straight pipes on the exhaust! But with the throttle held back, RPM didn’t seem to make much of an audible difference. As for the performance, I really didn’t notice much. But I assume the sound is making some difference.

I just took the time to find the main thread I had read on the product by Crashunit. I thought his review was an accurate depiction of what I have seen thus far. It was a little more of a complicated install for me as I don’t usually do much mechanically on my vehicles and as I said this was my first intake. But I muddled though it.

I like the "difference" this intake makes. So I'll stay close to this.

Blue ... no ... Carbon Fiber ... strong possibility!

Looks much better Whealy, in the second pic. By the way what type of paint did you use to do the covers?
And to the Carbon Fiber thought.........go for it....it will be sick!

MikeA,

The stuff I'm using (Duplicolor - Metalcast) is right here.
