OEM colored strakes

While working on various orders for strakes, accents and spoilers, I took a few minutes to shoot some Winning Blue and some Velocity Red. Here are the results.
I'm also going to play around with adding some "polished aluminum" accents to these. I'll post more picks when I get those done. Let me know what you think.

If interested, these can be ordered here:

Went ahead and shot some chrome ... just some concepts looking for feedback.

Thanks

How do the aluminum strakes compare to the factory offered strakes besides the price? Judging from the pics the quality is awesome.

Though these pics don't do them justice and I need to get some better lighting, here are a couple more ideas.

Note, the black one isn't exactly black. I am going to have to figure out how to get a better photo of that one, perhaps when it is light out. These strakes were not the ones produced, they are flawed in one way or another as I was getting the molds up to working right so they are not representative of what is produced.

There are many possibilities in customization of the finishes.

First OEM WB and VR
Second Designer Series

Here is a close up of the black one. This is Brilliant Black with Red Mica flakes. This is a brilliant color combo. This strake has not been rubbed with compound nor has it been buffed yet. The finish is not complete.

Schweeeet! ... I like 'em. Very nice indeed D. Very creative on the flying "M".

PistolPete-RX8 ... both Dennis and I make our strakes from molds directly pulled from the originals. In terms of shape, they are identical. The material we use is a type of urethane, of which there is a plethora of possibilities. Dennis uses aluminum filled to closely approximate the aluminum in the OEM versions. I use a high-end aluminum paint to approximate the OEM finish. We both are looking at alternative finishes and customized work for those who want something a little different/special. Dennis has been shipping his for a while now, my first batches should go out tomorrow and Monday.

IF you would like to order a set, please refer to https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=37845

There you will find the information needed to place an order for either the OEM Aluminum Finish, Mazda OEM RX-8 color (Velocity Red, WInning Blue, Brilliant Black, Titanium Gray, Sunlight Silver, Lightening Yellow or Nordic Green OR for something more interesting, try a custom color or design. I have made and shipped Gun Metal Mica which is excellent looking on a Titanium Gray or Sunlight Silver as the darker gray is close to the Titanium color and it has a lot of metal flake which also goes with the Silver of the Sunlight Silver very well.

I am shipping out my first set of Brilliant Black ones tomorrow to titaniumgrey who has a Lightening Yellow RX-8 sled that he is having modified considerably. Gonna get his door handles shaved as well as other great things. He has waited patiently for this time to come as his 8 has been in the shop for a while now.

There are also many other products there as well as some UNIQUE ones that can only be found on RX8Fun with some new ones soon to be introduced. This is custom work at it's best.

The Flying M was just an after thought once when I had my badge off and the mold I had just poured for one of my oil cooler grills was just poured, I stuck it in there just as a test. It is really very porous and is not of much use, but if I had extra resin in a cup, I would just pour it in the Flying M mold for the heck of it. I have a few floating around, my sons have a few of them, my youngest actually painted one camouflage (sp?) just because...

Of course, the finish on your's, John has yet to be beat. :D Those are really hot looking indeed. I do like the arrow head!
