Paint Chip Help
Hi guys, I went to my first track day over the weekend in my R3, was an absolute blast and will go back as soon as possible. But I used blue painting tape to cover the front of my car which worked very well, but some of the tape came off because I didn't apply it properly and I got a few tiny chips to my paint. If I order the paint and take it to a body shop what are the estimated prices and if I do it myself how should I do it so it looks as good as it did originally?

if it is a small chip, it really isn't worth the hassle of getting the oem paint and touching up, mainly because to properly do it you are going to need to sand down the area around the chip, clean it, apply the touch up, wait till dry, wet sand, add another layer, let dry, wet sand, add a clearcoat.
Taking it to a bodyshop will more than likely cost you 100 bucks even if it is smaller than a dime.
Get dr colorchip. I used it on my car with fantastic results.

ok do this,
get the touch up paint from dealship
then get an old lead pencil i'd look for a .5mm but .7 will work.
remove the cap part with the hollow metal tip the lead goes through.
now put 1-2 drops of paint inside the cap part of the tips.
make sure the paint starts to feed through, use your finger and push it down until you see any paint come out the tip end.
now you have an ultra fine touch up pen,
for chips, dab tip in center and keep just tapping it to fill in hole, let dry and repeat untill the paint is level, if you get any paint outside of the chip wipe off and start over,
for scratches this works awesome aswell and you can put the tip flush on the paint with the scratch in the cent and it will most likly fill in just the scratch.
but good luck
