plugging the emblem holes on the trunk?

i was wondering what other options there are to shaving the holes that the emblems leave on the trunk. shaving is too much money and i know they can be plugged nicely (or at least good enough for me). this is one of my fav RX8s and this person used something to just plug or cover up the holes. does anyone know what it is or have any other suggestions?

that option costs more than shaving the trunk and repainting.

Those are just nylon hole plugs that can be picked up for a few dollars at home depot, loews etc. I used these as a temporary solution on my last car between the removal of badges and spoiler and when i had it filled and painted.

seriously, that looks like ****, just save up the $ and do it right. It's not hideously expensive, we're talking 2-300 bucks tops from any reputable shop.

The RX-8 is on with stickey tape. the flying M and the Mazda are on with pegs.

The nylon hole plugs come in various sizes and should be in the same area as the fasteners. I have no idea what size would be needed for the holes on this car, sorry.

cheapest solution: blue painters tape painted black with a sharpie. Its been working for me for about 5 months now.. through rain, heat, and carwashes.

slightly OT. How do you pull the badges (Mazda and flying M) w/ pegs out? Just heat and fishing line like the other (RX-8) badge?

The fitment of the spoiler in that pic looks off... Wayyy too much Gap, im guessing its a replica, the real deal doesnt have that gap.

thats a genuine mintblue spoiler. gap is the part over the quarter panel to make sure it doesnt hit.

PS: good thing itll be my car and not yours then huh?

yes, if it was made flush onto the fender then it'd hit the fender whenever you close the trunk.

If you don't mind the little blob look why not fill them yourself. $30 in bondo, sandpaper and touch up paint.

One can only assume these are the same folks who bitch about gas prices and or fill up with low grade fuel. <soapbox> Do not live above your income level, if you cannot afford a sportscar, house, credit card, etc......don't get it. None of these things are NEEDS, they are WANTS, while the banks may thank you, you're killing your long term financial health. JEEZ!!! I can't count how many people I know who feel required to live a life style that exceeds their means (THANKS MTV AND POP CULTURE), it is so frusterating because nothing you say usually convinces them until they get so far in they can't find their way out. Then they come to me with checkbook and bills in hand "help me please" Ok, breathe......</soapbox>

Sorry, I am all better now.
