Either way, very nice. I might get myself a set.

Actually they augment the lighting from the inside courtesy lights when you open the door. They in fact work quite nicely and serve to illuminate the ground area around the door more completely, so you can better see when you step out of the car.

Thanks for the kind words ...

So, here's my deal. I wanted to do all the nice touches on my car while still keeping it "clean." i.e. clear corners, strakes, maybe a new grill, etc. Anyway, this is a cool looking mod. I was thinking about making this my first project, along with some super-whites for my interior lights as well. My question is in regards to installation. I havent worked with cars before, so when I saw things like taking off the door panel and speaker housing, I got a little worried. Should I shy away from this mod if I am a beginner working with my own car for the first time? And yes, I've already seen and read the whole manual for the entire installation.

Don't shy away from this mod just because you don't have very much experience. It truly is quite an easy thing to do. The door panels come off quite easily and after that, it's smooth sailing.

Just set aside a few hours if you're doing it on your own and take your time.

Bear in mind that until i had taken the panel off of my doors I had never done it before either I provide VERY detailed instructions in the kit with LOTS of pictures. I have had several ladies who have bought the lamps and installed them solo ... it really is not difficult and very rewarding when complete.

Ummm ... did you folks know that for a mere $15.00 you can get 10 chances at winning a pair of these puddle lamps??? At the same time you support a worthy event held for our fellow rotary enthusiasts...

If you have been thinking about getting a set ... why not give the raffle a try??? I'll make it even sweeter. If you buy the tickets (10 for $15.00) AND you DON'T win, I'll give you the $15.00 off the list price of a set that you do buy. Now then, you have nothing to lose.

Damn John, why are you coming up with all these sweet deals when I already have my set?
Not that I'm complaining... but did I say DAMN?

I took you up on this and bought the last 20 tickets. Not that I expect you to take $30 off, $15 would be fine.

Odd thing is, I don't even own an RX-8 yet.

Thanks guys- Swoope helped me get an email or two out to Derwankel. Now I just have to wait. What looks cool about this mod is it's a very obscure feature that makes the car very classy. It looks like a fun installation as well. That's my favorite kind of mod :-)

I just ordered and received a set from him. I paid the price he had quoted me a while back, but I received a partial refund because he said he was setting up a group buy soon. I haven't seen any posts on the GB yet, neither here nor "the other site" which he frequents, so I don't know if that has been instituted yet. That would be a great reason to buy them now, though. I got them a few days ago and haven't installed them yet, but they look really good. You can't get better treatment than that from a seller!
