Question about air dam.

Question about air dam.
I hit a headlight on the interstate and it pretty much destroyed my air dam, followed quickly by ripping out part of the splash guard, which in turn pulled the drivers side splash guard into the wheel. Needless to say I'm doing some repairs. I've found all the splash guards, but in looking at the air dam I can't seem to find the OEM air dam. I think the part number is F151-51-9K1A. However, when surfing ebay I keep finding this part number, F151-V4-900F-64, such as here: EBAY Listing
I guess my question is this, how does that ebay part fit in comparison to the OEM? It looks like that part has some sort of sides that the OEM does not. I'm not sure if I can just remove the broken one and replace it with that one from EBAY or not. Anyone know? Does it just sit lower and that's what the side flairs are?

I bought this a few weeks ago - it is OEM, but much better that what came with the car. I bought mine from the same ebayer - and the transaction was excellent. I kept my old air dam as a reminder how nice the new one is. Check my pics. The left and right sides do sit about and inch or two lower, but the center part is pretty much at the same level.

Because mine doesn't have the raised sides at all. In your album it looks like the entire front sits level, if the middle is the same height as the OEM, but the sides are higher, then how does the entire front sit level?

Exactly the same as the one I removed - the difference is that the original clips directly onto the bottom of the bumper, whereas the replacement overlaps the bumper a bit and sits just a little lower (not much) as the splash shield underneath still clips onto the dam.

Alright good, I wanted to make sure before I spent money on it to find out I got the wrong one. Originally I had a matte black dam without risers, but I'm thinking about going with white since my car is white anyway. But it's a difference of almost 100 bucks between white and a black one, so before I put the money down on it I want to make sure lol.

I just ordered the full OEM kit from this same seller.
I can't speak on behalf of fitment yet (still in line at the shop, should be painted and installed by Friday).
But as far as the transaction goes, they shipped pretty fast. Everything was wrapped really well. And it is all labeled genuine OEM Mazda parts with part numbers.

I'm having my uncle spray and fit mine. After talking to the seller on the phone it sounds like there shouldn't be any real work as far as fitment goes. But I guess I can give an update on those details once mine is complete.
I wouldn't imagine that they would hit you too hard for the paint/install. It's really not a lot of area to cover. You could always try to call and see what you get quoted?

Yeah, the thing about whitewater pearl is that it's a 3 stage paint. So it would cost about 450 bucks to paint it. But they say they have my colour, so I'm hoping I wont have to. Plus, since I don't need all the parts, I'm hoping to negotiate the price down a bit for the pieces I need. I have a bump in my front bumper from an accident, so I'm hoping the money I'll say one the price of the kit will offset the cost of repainting and shaping the bumper. I also have some scratches on the driver's side suicide door where you can tell whoever had the car before me would hit his seatbelt on the outside of the door getting out. But those look like they are in the clear coat only, so I'm hoping I can completely clean out the scratch, very lightly sand down the ridges where it's protruding, and then buff it down even without ever getting past the clear coat. Then I can just clay the entire car, fully detail it, polish, and wax it, and have a brand new looking car! We'll see lol.

They will work with you on the pieces you need also. I have a GT so I didn't need the rear spoiler with mine. Just called and asked if I could make a deal for the kit without it. He had me place an "offer" through ebay and just note that I wanted everything except the spoiler. Offer was accepted within minutes.
