Questions about body kits
Hi!
I'm planning on getting the TRC MX300 Japan REVO BodyKit. I think it has got an aggressive look to it and I bet there arn't many like it here in sweden. Anyways, I just sent an email to the company who sells em and asked if it is made out of glass fiber or urethane.
How big difference is there between the two materials?
Should I skip this one and keep an eye out for some other kit which I can get in urethane if this ones front and rear bumper is made of glass fiber?
Is rmagic available in urethane?
Just want to know, because it is like 2720 euro (without the hideous spoiler) ~ 3500$ (or something) and I dont want to throw it away if it will break easily.
Btw... Is there some one with photoshop skills who could switch the color into silver in these pics?
Peace!

A bit too fussy for me that one.
As for kits in general.
Fiberglass should be avoided where possible, especially for the front and rear as any kind of knock will result in a big hole / crack or worse.
If urethane is available its always the better option, or something like INGs Hybrid material - flexible fibreglass - however even that isn't going to be as robust as urethane.
As an example, if you try and bend a fibreglass product it will just crack and snap, urethane will flex a fair amount before it cracks or just gets out of shape. The INGs hybrid will flex a bit, but will still crack eventually.
I've got the INGs hybrid on the front, and the Veilside GT sides, already taken a chunk out of one of the sides on a high kerb when reversing out of a parking space, on the underside so its not noticeable, but in the 2 months between doing it and getting some paint back on it water has already got into the fibreglass and its expanded / quite soft in that area.

Found the site that sells that kit after a bit of googling, I prefer this one they do - infact the nose is pretty much perfect. I love the GT car look :

that kit will make your 8 more faster and furiouser...LOL
Looks like it has all the kits available for the 8, fused into one! I see an RMagic lip, an MS Front bumper mixed with the Extreme Dimension, etc. etc.

Go ahead with the REVO kit... But I would think twice about the hood if you´re planning on driving it in the winter. =) We can´t have 2 equally styled 8s in sweden....=)
Where do you live?
Edit: Don´t know if you contacted TRC about urethane or fibreglass, but check my sig, they´re selling the kit as well. =)

a real mazdaspeed bodykit is made of meton which is stronger than urethane. xdeedubbx, dont go fiberglass, it cracks too easily. even flexible fiberglass cracks as well. veilside makes their bodykits with fiberglass and a carbonfiber insert. but go urethane or meton if u can before fiberglass. it will be more expensive but last longer.
