Questions from a noob

Ok, so I'm looking to modify my 04 rx8 a little bit. I've done some searching around the forums and the web and basically what I've gathered is that go authentic over replicas because of fitting and painting issues and if you go replica go with shine. I've started looking at the lip kit from Shine and it seems to be well within my price range, but I really have no idea how to put it on. Is it something that needs to be painted and put on professionally or is it something that I would be able to on my own with some simple tools?

The other thing I was wondering about is that I was looking to put a small spoiler on the rear. Nothing too crazy, not a big wing, just something small. Does it matter if I get a replica cause the one i found on mazdaspeed is just way to expensive for a spoiler in my opinion and I just don't like the look of it. I'm looking for something like this. http://www.amazon.com/04-08-Mazda-Pa.../dp/B001E4SP26

Any thoughts/comments. Should I go look for an affordable body kit? or would a lip kit do the job? Ok, flame away at the noob lol

Well, it all depends on the look that you're shooting for. In terms of the lip, you would definitely have to get it painted by a decent bodyshop. Depending on your mechanical skills, you should be able to put the lip on yourself.

The link that you posted for the spoiler is the OEM spoiler. What I would do is continue to search on threads to see if anyone wants to switch trunks with you for free. Some member actually prefer the spoilerLESS look. You could also post a thread that you want to make a trade on your "local" thread.

All in all, I like bodykits over lip kits. However, they are expensive. Keep looking around in the "parts for sale" threads. Something will eventually show up.
