Just got back from the dealer...again. I told them I wanted it fixed. I told them I talked to the company that made the spoiler,(Racing Beat) and that RB had no other complaints about mounting or the template. He again gave me the "aftermarket" parts speech. I told him I wanted it re-installed and centered. He kind of stared at me and said it would not be a good idea to drill any more holes. (No kidding!) I told him he was right- there should have been only four in the first place! I asked again-- Are you going to put in on correctly? He finally gave in and said to bring it in Monday and they will do the work and will reinstall and make sure it is centered. He seemed so amazed that that I was bitching about it be "a little off center"... AAAAAARRRGGGHHHH! At least it is getting fixed. ( But I am not getting a new trunk lid)

I'd say at this point, it isn't really about the spoiler being centered. How are they going to recenter it when your lid is already swiss cheese? They f'ed it up. They should replace the trunk lid. I would demand it, and threaten them with legal action, or at least a letter to Mazda USA. They've already got your money. So long as you didn't sign anything that frees them from responsibility because "it is, after all, an aftermarket part", they are legally accountable. Your car did not come into the shop with extra holes in it. You only gave them permission to put holes in your car that would fasten down the spoiler. You didn't tell them to have a go at it, and if the first time doesn't fit right, drill again and again until it's where it's supposed to be. They wouldn't do that to their own cars, so why should it be okay to do it to yours? Keep on them, and don't let them get away with this.

agree with what lucas said plus the first time you complained they talked you out of it then you went back and demanded they fix it and they said ok. the same thing holds true for the trunk lid. if you fought hard enough for it you'd get it. otherwise you're going to have 3 holes very close together on each side and the structural integrity might be lost. if they get you a new lid they're probably going to lose money on this deal but a customer would be happy. a reputable company should have no problem doing this for you.

I'll push for the trunk lid - I am tired of dealing with this sh*t. I should have had them paint it and then install it myself -
I am looking at buying the RB side skirts and farings- trust me I will not take it to my local Mazda dealer for installation!

UPDATE:
Waited to go back until this morning - wanted to talk with the Manager in person- he is the guy I dealt with to begin with. I took him outside and showed him my problem - he was suprised when he saw it - no one had told him - I explained to him that no one had told me about the problems when I had picked it up - He apologized, and told me they would do what ever it takes to get it done right- He said the extra holes look terrible, and agreed there is no way it shoould have been turned over to me in that condition. He is going to figure out what he is going to do, and I will talk with him at the end of this week - I am pushing for a new trunk lid - It's going back in next Monday - I am told they will need it for 2-3 days.
