Rear Bumper Cover Question

Got rear ended a while back and had it fixed with OEM parts from Mazda, when I picked up the car everything was lined up and looked great. Went out to get in the trunk and noticed that the rear bumper cover had gaps in it where it snaps into the rear quarters. I took it back to the body shop and they told me that there are only two sets of clips that hold the bumper cover on (located at the seam between the rear quarters and the bumper cover). The car hasnt been hit or bumped since. Are the connectors that hold it in place that weak or did they do a crappy job on the reassembly? I would think that there has to be something more that holds the bumper cover on than two sets of clips. Anyone have any ideas on this one?

Both...
Try and see if they will fix it for you, sometimes you have to kiss a dealerships *** other times you have to just yell at them and go down the street...

Actually I had it fixed at a body shop and they give you an automatic lifetime warranty (as long as you own the car) on the paint and installation of the parts. I just dropped it off this morning, but I am a little worried that it will come loose again.

Mine must look like yours. I have an '04 with a newer rear bumper cover I had customized. It does not fit the same as the original one, and it even looks different on the lower middle portion. There is nothing you can do to close that gap. I looked. The only thing I can think of, is 3M double sided tape, but once you go that route, it will be hard to get it off later if you need to.

The body shop just called and they said they removed it and put it back on and it attached with no gaps in it. Lets just hope it stays that way. Otherwise it will be time to get creative.
