Rear euro lip -> MS rear wing
Oh well, another question hehe.
I got the euro lip on top of my trunk, and to install the MS wing, I need to remove it. Anyone did this themselves, or is it pretty much impossible? It's fitted with 4 x plastic clips, two of them you can't reach unless you got fingers like the guy in fantastic 4, or some special tool that can bend and do whatever you feel like.
On top of that, it's the double sided tape...
Was thinking about letting Mazda do the job, but here in Norway, there are like a handful of them, so they're pretty much clueless when it comes to the RX-8. Their policy is like "if it's not broken, then we're not touching it" :oP

yeah its titainum grey. I'll think about your offer, first I need to see if Mazda could get it off without damaging the paint on it and my trunk :o)
I guess you could always cut off the screws that's holding the clips, since you need to make something like 8-10 mm holes in the trunk lid.

i did have this on mine, i took it off, i had the carbon fibre version. All you need is some goo gone and some patience. First i put the goo gone on where the spoiler joined the car, then waited a few minutes and gently eased it off. i started from the outside in. Where it got a bit tough i would put some more goo gone. The eventually POP it came off. Any questions let me know

I got my Euro boot lip spoiler from a UK forum member; it is anchored by double-sided tape and four tap screws thru the trunk lid just like Imsdal said. I've had it now for years, I'll have to remember the who I got it from but he had a body shop do the removal for him.

The clips are located at the very left and right side of the trunk, about 2 inches from the sides, and the two others are pretty much between the licence plate. To get the ones at the side, you need some special tools, or drill up the trunk from below to get to the clips, and I'm not too keen on doing that :oP
Yeah Scsi, I'll see if my Mazda workshop can remove it without ripping it apart - if it's still in one piece, it's yours![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
It's the same as brothervoodoo's pics above, I can post some if you like.

Hehe, no worries ![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Well, I cant say for the UK ones, but mine had 4 holes in the trunk, along with the ds tape. Used the clips from the old lip to fill them, and I haven't had any issues with water or anything since removed mine.
They were located 2-3 inches from each side of the trunk, and one on each side of the rear breaking light.

Well, the tape is kinda hard to remove with the clips holding the lip in place. But if you got a heating pistol or something, and start on one side, that helps. It comes down to gearwise and how much force you dare to apply hehe. If you got a wedge or a big screwdriver, tape it with alu tape or something, to help you to pry it without damaging your paint.
