Spoiler Opinion

IMHO, the RX8 is one of the few cars that looks better without its stock spoiler. It looks like it was an afterthought........

I was really torn over the spoiler for a while myself. But I ended up getting one. I think it is very nicely done. It is not overstated, but it adds a sense of balance to the overall layout of the car. That's just my opinion of course

I agree. It helps the overall balance of the car. And it looks good too. Not too ricey, but a little more than the European spoiler.

It looks great with it, it looks great without it. I wanted the appearance package and thought it looked slightly better with spoiler.

To each "their" own... I prefer to get my hands on a euro lip spoiler than the stock US spoiler..

I will probably get the spoiler, I do wonder if it would look more unique (not necessarily better or worse) without the spoiler, but with the appearance package and the front mud flaps I think the spoiler may be the way to go. It does hide the cars rear profile a bit, but its a good shape for a spoiler and does go with a more aggressive look. I may get the car without and then decide a few months down the road.

I've also pondered the spoiler in the bright silver or with a chrome job. I think this might be a bit much, but with a blue car, or any other dark color, a big style thing about this car (and the 350Z) is the contrast between the painted parts and the metal parts. Anyone good enough with Photoshop to gimmick up a pic?

I can't decide! To spoiler or not to spoiler...

I am going to get a blue RX-8 in 2004 (an 05 model)... but can't decide whether I want the spoiler or not?
and if i do whether i get the xmen one or the regular Mazda one.
Does the spoiler take away from the car's natural beauty?
anyone have pics of a blue spoiler

what does everyone think?
would it be ugly?

i'm gettin an RX-8 with Strakes, nothing else (no ground fx)

Talking Spoiler

I have certainly seen a lot of BIG GT wings in the magazine.... certainly the smaller and more subtle the wing is the better it looks. The XMen wing is just on the limit.. I more prefer the Mazdaspeed ones. The stock wing is not bad either

I've got the Mazda US spec Spoiler and really beleive it adds to the looks. I prefer it over the low profile and MS spoiler.

I've got the factory spoiler in a box and I'm finding it hard to bring myself to bore 6 holes in the boot to fit it. I like the look of the car without the spoiler, I think the factory spoiler looks pretty good ... and I blame takahashi for making me want the MS spolier :D

takahashi, it's all your fault!

If I fit the factory spoiler, I'be up for a new bootlid to file the MS one later, there's no way the fitting templates would be the same!

That is absolutely right... it is different holes...

I will try to contact some car mod shop in Melbourne and rotaryextreme.com to see if I could bring them to Australia... Kev and Kas you interested? Any one else in Australia?

Yes I'm interested. I'll get the factory spoiler painted v.red next week anyway (I'm getting the egg damage fixed, so it's just one more bit for them to paint), I'll probably be able to sell it easier painted!

Are you looking at the exhaust from the same source?

(PS I'm only interested in the rear spoiler at this stage.)
