I painted mine and it was pretty easy. Ask someone at the auto parts store for the cleaner and paint to use, detach them (except for the hose), then make sure you clean them very well and mask the area with newspaper and tape. Then just paint away. 20-30 minutes per caliper.

if you want caliper tips:
1. Get the G2 paint, the cheap stuff from walmart can't stand up to 2 years of harsh break dust cleaners, they will fade slightly, and worse- start to get brittle and crack. It's about $30 for a can of G2, and you can paint all calipers with it.
2. Before you paint, get a sander - even the ones that attach to a drill will work. Sand down the calipers so they are smooth. Otherwise the bumps will show through the paint. This makes them look really nice.

At least these look a lot better than painted calipers....if you're gonna be a big brake poser....better do it the right way lol.
If you want color calipers go with a big brake kit...the only way to go.
Painted calipers look cheap and cheesy. I could never understand why people want to highlight the fact they are running OEM brakes. Maybe it's the Picasso effect...from afar you might thing their Brembos, but when you walk up closer you'll just be disappointed

Yes, the proper way to go would be to upgrade the calipers, but if you just want something that looks better than the rusted OEMs and are happy with the performance of them without spending a bunch of money, painting them yourself is not that difficult and does look decent... at least a lot better than original... as long as you do a good job by preping the surfaces properly and using the right paint.
See attached.

According to the Mazda dealer in vero for $35 for all four they will sand all the rust down and make it look like-new with a cleaner they claim takes away all the rust... have yet to experiment with this so-called cleaner however..
