Red Tail lights
Hi.
I like my RX8. One thing that I do not like is the chromed tail light background. Never liked that style. I would like regular red tail light lenses to cover that chrome look.
I have seen the smoked tail light lenses, but I am looking for red lenses, are there any available???

i'm sure you can get a can of clear candy apple red spray paint from the hobby store and bake it then clear coat it to get the "red" taillight look... that may be one way. i'm sure there are others.

Check Ebay, that's where I got mine. Also, I use to to the spray paint thing, back in the day when I had a Civic... results are good... but after a while, the paint fades.

Thanks for the tips. I tried to look at Kwescotts car, but I have no idea whom he is.
I will look into japanesse sites, I am sure those guys will have some things worked out.
I would try painting only in case I can not find any red lenses.
Be right back!

Check for my thread called "red out" taillights. Red film similar to the film used to blackout your tails. It is 7-year vinyl material which takes much, much patience to install.

I used a guy who is well known in the VW/Audi world for tinted tail lights and they came out great.

I was thinking of doing this...
I have extra set of tails in the basement.
I dont want to to spend too much (aka, have someone else do it)
but also, I dont wanna do it myself and mess it up. lol
But most likely I am going to do it myself.
Make sure you know that, you are not going to have back-up (reverse) lights!
that's another thing holding me back.
