Removing MS Side Skirts

Why would you put all that work into a car just to trade it in? Especially for the same car but a MT. Are you going to turn around and spend that $$$$ all over again? Just doesn't make any sense to me, sorry.

Wow, I can understand wanting to trade for an MT, but girl you've done A LOT of work to yours. I'm sure you could make it work if you still have stock parts, but it'll take some help. Are you sure you want to do this?

If you want the added power, just get turbo charge it. You'll be paying more than the price of the GReddy just to upgrade to the 6speed. Check out the thread on turbo on the autos. It can, and has been done.

I doubt money would be an issue for her, since she did say she's changing it to the Manual... just wondering whether the sideskirts left holes or not. So if money isn't an issue, just trade the car in, and buy the pieces back... work a deal with the dealership and see if you can have the MS front/side reattached over to the new car. Wonder how much the difference will be... maybe 7-8k?

Will the MS 6 speed have more power than the current MT?

I'm pretty sure if and when the MS is released in the states, it will have higher HP. Just like all the other car makers out there, their special versions all have increased HP etc. (ex: Mitsubishi Evo MR)

I would just trade for a manual 8 if you really want to make that 'upgrade'
too much risk that something will go wrong during the engine/tranny swap
you also realize the whole driveshaft AND the rear differential is different between your base auto 8 and the 6 speed 8 right?
if i was you, i would wait for until '06 to see if there are any significant changes for 06 models, and maybe mazda will have more to say about a possible mazdaspeed version for 07 or 08...
