Cool Rotary Extreme's CF, MS Style wing Installed

Ok, the wait is over and the wing has arrived. :D :D :D

I love the MS (Mazdaspeed) wing's look. Then I found out it actually makes usable down force at 50mph... Then I saw it on the Speedsource cars...

...needless to say that was the straw that broke this camel's back. A few emails to Chuck at Rotary Extreme (I highly recommend) and the wing was on it's way :D

Here is a shot of the car before:
(my car was purchased with the factory wing already installed.)

:edit: picture didn't load so here's another before shot

The factory wing is pretty easy to take off...

Unbolt the 4 screws from the trunk then "pop" it off

there are 2 more pop rivets.

The wing came with a template which was used to check the factory location's holes

yep! no need to swiss cheese the car, the factory holes line up

...so on go the brackets

the bottom portion of the wing slips over the brackets and is held in place by both double sided tape and two bolts on the bracket

the top portion mounts easily to the brackets via 4 bolts. At this point you can start playing with what degree you want the wing set to (0°, 5°, 10°, 15°). I went with 5°

oh did I mention it was SILVER CARBON FIBER

I will clean up the car and get some better pix later

Wow. Beautiful spoiler. Nice Choice, the silver CF matches amazingly well on your car.

I think the brackets are the same as the MS spoiler. Heck the instructions were in Japanese for the MS A-Spec.

That thing looks so sweet. I wish I had 950 to buy it, but I would rather put 950 into canzoomer and some other stuff, but dont have it anyway. Ive got the stock spoiler and could probably sell it for 250 or so. Are you planning on trying to sell yours?

Can you take a pic of the spoiler itself please? Is that piece also CF?

I wonder if someone can just make the bottom portion for the lip spoiler effect.

Very nice.
I didn't even see that one on their site. I was thinking about getting the regular CF wing to go with my CF lip. Site says they're on back order until June.
