RX-8 appeal...

RX-8 appeal...
I am finding the RX-8 in it's most basic form wayyyyy more appealing lately. I have never been keen on after market body work kits for any car that has ever been built, and everything I have seen aftermarket for the RX-8 just doesn't do anything for me. There aren't even any aftermarket wheels that I find appealing except for the Davin Speed SP1.
I am not bashing any of you that have added aftermarket items to your car. It's your car and everyone has different tastes, I just prefer this look.

I can see both sides to this preference.
I have a Silver 3rd Gen RX-7. No body kit of any kind. In fact, I don't even have a spoiler on it. This has nothing to do with money, and everything to do with preference. I simply think that it has a much cleaner, classic look this way! I get nothing but compliments on it.
I also like the RX-8 as pictured above, and probably prefer it over the "appearance package". However, I definitely have a preference for the MazdaSpeed body kit, especially the front nose:
It just makes it look quite a bit more aggressive. I understand that some people may not prefer the "aggressive" look. To each his own.

I bought mine without any body kit stuff because I wanted to eventually get something... but wanted to wait until the market matures a bit more, and there are more choices.
Right now, almost all the kits come with something very similar to the MS kit in terms of front nose, and especially side areas.
I'm not in any rush, as you said, the car looks great without a kit too. I had to get the MS spoiler though, it's too cool

For the most part, I agree. I am not a big fan of the appearance package, but the MazdaSpeed one is OK.
The only things I'd consider adding now would be something like the UK rear lip spoiler and some SSR Comp. wheels for summer so I could use my OEM wheels for winter. If I had the money....

Afterall we all went to findout more about the car either for
a) its stock looks
b) or the engine
c) or the practicality
d) all the above!
I've never done anything to my previous cars, had two Celica VVTi/VVTLi before and left them totally stock.
There's something about the 8 thought that has dragged me in and just calls for tweaks here and there.
I know what Robert means above, every so often from a certain angle the grin does look a little twee, and for me the agressiveness of the INGs kit just took it one notch above the MS kit.
My car was stock, apart from the outlet fins from new, stayed that way for 6 months then all hell broke loose

There is little I would change about the front end of the MS body kit. I think it needs to be more 3 dimensional where it's oil cooler holes go deeper all the way to the oil cooler it's self. Also, I have never been a fan of the black CF bottom of the lip. So, with that said, here are the improvements that I would have made when designing this front end.
