Those Extra Grill Pieces?

There are two extra pieces to the front grill on the upper right and upper left that apparently are not part of the main grill, what are those and do they have a separate purpose?

pic?, sounds like thats where the tow hooks go.

yes, those are the covers for the tow hook screw-in points
