RX8 Spider
How the hell did this spider get inside the tail lights lens? This is the second bug I've found inside, the first one was in the RHS lens, but it was much smaller than this one.

Insanely Yellow
He thought the red lens was the sun?
There are "weep" holes under bottom of the lens to vent the lens to the air and allow condensation out. Most likely he got in through one of those, probably when he was just a pup.

That spider has good taste!! :D Take it into your dealer, see what they can do. They may have to change out the rear assembly or remove a bulb and try to get in there.
Good luck.

I thought I was the only one!!! I too have a spider that looks exactly like that in my light fixture in the front of the car (maplights?)... I had no idea how it got in there... Maybe Mazda has some pretty nasty factories over in Japan that are infested with spiders? If it's still there (hasn't fallen out) I'll try to get a picture of it later.

Just push the brake and blind him. Spiders hate the light. Maybe he will leave. Unless like someone else said he got in there when he was just a pup. Now is too big

The spider looks like it's been blinded already. It is still in the same position after 3 days. It's dead alright, unless it's hibernating! If it got in there while still a pup, what did it feed on to grow to that size?
Anyway, now I'll need to learn how to remove the rear lights assembly to get the spider out.

I found a BIG dead grasshopper under my sidemarker when I switched to clear ones. My best guess is that either an assembler put it in there, or it jumped in and the assembler never noticed it. There was no way it could have crawled in there, and looked nothing like local grasshoppers. I think it was probably a Japanese grasshopper, assuming all our 2004 cars are assembled in Japan like I think they were.
