Wait, when did everyone have a meeting to decide seibon isn't good anymore... Last time I checked my hood and trunk fits nice, looks good, and pretty expensive. I guess to everyone has their own opinion, but if we are going to knock Seibon at least know they are the top replicas lol.....
o and yea, um...where is the Ks , Ts and TSII style hoods knocked off from...

you know, i don't know how others are saying about seibon is a great company blah blah blah, to me, it's crap, I've seen so many seibon product, NONE fits well to me. Stop saying it's a REAL or AUTHENTIC seibon hood, SEIBON ITSELF IS A FUXKING REPLICA, so when you're getting replica, crappy fittment is expected, stop complain and live with it. or get a veilside hood, which is real and it fits PERFECT.

My purpose of going with an aftermarket hood was mostly because of the venting feature. I'd have fabricated my own OEM hood to accomplish the same thing but with the cost of an OEM hood being over $1,000 it was much easier to spend the $700 on a hood that would bolt on and look good.
I also feel that the Seibon weeve looks much better than the VIS hoods. One thing I did per advice from a friend with a CF hood on his Mazda 6 was to have the hood covered completly with 3M clearbra material to prevent fading and rock chips. That in itself puts the value of the hood close to a supposed non-replica.
Sure, the Seibon hood I have isn't a flush fittment but it's not so bad people have commented about it. It's not like buying a fiberglass replica MS bodykit opposed to a polyurethane which is clearly a superior product.
Kinda comes down to this...if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck...people are going to think it's a duck.

i Have the same exact hood. The fitment is alright there are huge gaps and yes i am using my stock front bumper. The clear coat sucks. Ive had it less then a year and now it is ready to get refinished.

seibon is notorious for **** quality. its real hit or miss with them... not just with the RX8 community but with all different car types. good luck with that hood.

on my mazda 6 the quality was excellent and fitment was perfect and after 2 years it still looked perfect. I cant say the same for my rx8 hood though

i can get most of it to look alright... but the main part thats was buggin me requires hood pins where the middle bolt by the fender is... 30-50 buks... i will see if its tolerable...

i wouldnt say all good brands are a perfect fit. I have seen first hand quite a few authentic veilsides not fit perfectly.
If you want a perfect fit, the OEM MS is the only kit that will give it to you. We can all debate all we want, but after market is after market. There will be some issues with after market kits in terms of fitment etc. But the better (genuine) brands have these issues to a lesser degree.

Fitment Probs.
It looks like the real deal to me. I have the Seibon TSII. I have the knockoff MS kit. The kit needed a lot of work Half inch in some places. But when I got the hood it fit W/no probs. If your kit had fitment probs and the guy who did the bodywork adjusted it not as close as OEM. It may amplify probs. Also if it has to do with small clearence probs W/the fenders although it may look like the hood cannot be adjusted lossen up all the bolts and you can shift it minutly from side to sid and then tighten down. also when you ues the factory hood latch it makes the hood about a Quater to half inch too low. You could make a spacer as I did out of aluminun or place washers to space as a friend did. I know ppl who had the VIS hoods fly apart at the seems at speed. Nothing like that w/seibon.

I got mine from invision (Sam) on this site, and the fit was horrible in my opinion. They said it was normal and didn't want to do anything about it. I found someone who did not mind the fit and they purchased it from me. I still lost money on the deal.

just kidding. good info... hopefully others in the future who need to assist the fitment use the washers as well.

Don’t worry about it man its a real seibon hood. Its an aftermarket hood so the fitment will always very. I today went to pick my seibon TSII hood from their where house on walnut st. I know for sure its real and the fitment is horrible!!!!! There is a gap in the front and on the drivers side. Its aftermarket and a knock off at that, so what. The only reason I got it was for the cool looking vents and since I cant afford the REAL R magic hood, this is the best alternative for me. It even feels the same weight as the stock hood. I'll post pics if you want.

that looks like a real SEIBON hood dude... my looks exactly the same and the fitment is not perfect as well... it has huge gaps between the fenders~ mine came straight from SEIBON as sponsored products...
