Hey guys, i just got myself i lovely rx8 =) and im having a really tough time deciding on what color of stripes i wanna get running down the body. The paint is a dark green color so its hard for me to think of what would look good with it. Ill try to post some pictures so you can see what im working with.

You have a Nordic Green I am guessing, which means 2004.

I wouldn't recommend stripes. Stripes are trying to add lines to a car that doesn't have appealing ones to begin with, and the 8's lines are plenty sexy already.

BUT, if you insist on adding stripes, the only color that will look good (in my opinion), would be silver.

Red on green = christmas
Orange on green = drunken puke
Yellow on Green = nausea
Green on Green = Anything from invisible to
Blue on Green = seasick
Purple on Green = colorblind
Black on Green = meh, doable
White on Green = meh, decent
Brown on Green = muddy grass
Silver on Green = acceptable

Make sure you read up on proper care of the 8... plenty of time researching.

 

That would be correct. Mines an 05. the only pictures i have of it right now are really dark cause we tried to do a sunset shoot but the dark color didnt go over to well. haha i will post them though.

i just wanted to put stripes down its curves so it stood out a little more.
My first car was a white 71 el camino with blue stripes going down it. It was impossible to miss me.

 

One thing I did with a dark blue car I once had, which shall remain unidentified, was a ~1" white strip right along the bottom edge of the front bumper and down the sides. It really make the car stand out a bit, and looked clean. A few people have lip kits painted a different color with the similar idea.

It could work well on the 8 too I think. Only on dark colored cars, or at least medium and dark, so you can go with a brighter color. Going with a darker color, required for silver and white, just makes the car seem to lift off the ground more by extending the shadow under it. Visually.

 

that is exactly how i planned to put the stripes down it.
I just couldn't think of any colors aside from white that would look good on it.

I wouldn't add a stripe. I'd shave that thing you call a beard though!

 

maybe try out a dark gold/bronze? think that'd look classy-ish

 

I like the sound of that color. Ill check it out.

And for the record i just shaved the chin strap yesterday!

 

you can go with a black and white for an euro look
