Suggestions on Xenon...

I made the mistake of thinking all RX-8's came Xenon equipped and I bought a Sport model...

Any suggestions on what to do? should I just use Xenon-like bulbs b/c I know it's pretty expensive to equip it with HID factory headlights???

any help on what I should do will be appreaciated, thanks alot, i have an 07 if that matters

I bought an 04' base model and what I did was I bought the denso/kioto HID ballast and ds2 bulb (rx8's xenon) and then a little metal piece that converts the ds2 bulb to fit the headlight properly. I've yet to install it but it's in my TO-DO-List within the next few weeks so i'll def. let you know how it comes out and if it comes out ok, then you have a choice other than buying new headlights and ballasts.

I bought the ballasts, bulbs, and converter piece off of ebay and it totaled out to $170. That's 1/10 of the price you would have to pay if you bought them through Mazda.. and you don't want to buy these "HID conversion" kits for the rx-8 because from what i've heard they're just cheap halogen knock offs that don't last too long. The ballasts and bulbs that I bought are the exact same ones from the rx-8 w/ xenon.

if i buy the xenon lights from past models they will fit an 07 correct? and they come with the ballast so all i would need would be the actual bulbs???
