Hello,

I did my research, I used the search button, but i dint find anything.

I have 04 RX8 without sunroof, there is a local auto wreaking shop near my place that sells a whole sunroof assembly, the whole roof and the headliner from a parted 05 RX8. I want to try to install it to my 04'.

Does changing the roof (mechanical & electronics) will cause me a lot of headache, and does it require to pay a professional to do this?

Just my opinion but I think that it would be a realy difficult thing to do, and also end up costing quite a bit.

very labor intensive.. im assuming you dont know how to do, i would not even touch that. Just get a turbo with that money instead with a bit of spare change

personally, i wouldn't.

water leaks, fitment issues etc.

Cutting the roof to install a sunroof will compromise the structural integrity of the car. The braces going across the roof are different when the car is not equipped with a stock sunroof, and cutting them will mess up the car.
You would have to replace the whole roof with the one coming from the donor car. Don't remember anyone posting who did that.
