Aight my fellow RX-8er's, ive got an 04 black and i wanna tint the windows. The owner before me had a slight mirror tint on it and im debating on putting black behind it for a mirror/black combo or just get rid of the mirror and do straight black. What are your thoughts?

 

I've got 15% Lumar all around. I love it! Just dark enough but not too dark for night driving. There is a link to my pics in my sig. I think you should get rid of the mirror and start fresh. Be sure to check your state laws in regards to just how dark you can go.

Well us folks down here in Arizona need all the tint we can get,
so I had 5%put on the back window and the rear doors,
and 15% on the front doors.
Man it dropped the temp. inside the car in the day by a good 20 degrees,
no joke. Of course it does get 120 plus in the summer. HOT, DAMN HOT
But if I were you I would check the laws where you live for how dark you can go.

 

the laws arent the point...down here in chattanooga they dont really care too much. the point is should i have the glossy mirror effect or just jet black (5%)?

^I agree! I personally don't like the mirrored tint. But that's just my preference.

 

I prefer jet black, but it's your car, so go with what you like.

 

Mirror tint is a little too gangbanger for me. All black is WAY more classy. Laws in VA are 50% front 35% rear, I went with 35% front, 20% rear. Not exactly legal but I don't exactly care. I'll get pics when I get home. But totally get rid of the mirror-ness unless you plan on putting some chromed out dubs to go with it.

 

its going to be a pain in the backside with dark rear tint when parking at nights...
but it would look damn good!

i got 5% tint on all three windows in the back and it doesnt bother me. i love it cause the sun dont bother me at all.

 

i live in NJ have 25 all around.. at night i cant see lol only unless a cars headlights are shinning otherwise i cant see jack sheeeeit

 

how long have you had it for?? or maybe you just have to get use to it. hahaha
