Even 20% in back and 50% up front will look bad imo, too much difference in the shade. I have 35 in back and 50 on the front and the 50 is not dark at all. I like it, but I immediately wished i had gotten the 35 all around (which is the tinting sweet spot imo). If you're into the really dark look and want 20 in back I'd get 35 in front.

Question: Well I have all 35% tint on all windows and wanted to go darker. This tint guy said I can just add new tint over the existing tint to make it darker. Does this sound right?? Or is it just a lazy way out of taking off my old tint? Thanks

that is the SUPER FREAKING LAZY way to go about it. Find a new installer.
Proper method involves removing the tint and reapplying.

The only problem is the rear window. Gotta be careful not to FUBAR the rear defroster.

This might help....

http://www.tintpros.com/photos/Examples-of-Tinting

60% (10% Darker than you are thinking of going)

5% Rear and 35% Front

Bad looking tint jobs by not blending your tint...

I've got 40% all the way around (except windshield of course).

Mine is a bit more reflective that your average tint, but I've been driving around atlanta for two years now and have never had any problems.

.....

It would be possible. It is just more window tint.

I just got my windows tinted today. I did the full limo tint on the back and 2 small side back windows and left the front stock. In my area, any tint at all on the front 2 side windows warrants a ticket. I was pulled over once a week when I had tints on my old car. Guy did the whole thing for $160 and only took 3 hours.
