Tinted Tailights

Tinted Tailights
Hey guys.
So I decided to get creative as I really don't like clear tails. I ended up buying 2 extra sets of tails plus I have 3 cans of niteshade tints spray.
Now I'm determined to finish this project as I can't have all this stuff laying around my house anymore.
I've been playing with the idea of tinting the tails for sometime now. I've finally come up with a couple of designs that I'm hoping might look good in real life.
First picture is the original (thanks to whoever's pic this was.. let me know if it isn't ok)
All Tint With cutout
Tint with cutout and centerline
Any input would be great.

i used to own a Mazda 6
here is the pic
I've never had problems here in california since 2003. The center cutout with the line would be pretty legal, the only thing might be the tint covering the "side" reflectors.
I was thinking maybe only a 50% tint... not a complete JetBlack tint. The big thing that will get you would be covering the brake light- which would be left open.
I think as long as you dont drive like a moron, you're cool.

i saw a titanium gray 8 with tinted rear lights and it looked pretty nice. ive seen this special type of spray paint made especially for tinting lights selling online and in some car store. its very different from regular tinting paint. you can peel it off after it dries if you dont like it. it becomes like a clear plastic film. i dont know whats it called because the description was in japanese. well ill try to find the link for it.

I don't know if the picture of just the lights alone is the final product. I do believe he went through the wet sanding process. The thread had several pictures for the different stages of the process.

nice find... you finally found it! it was becoming quite the mission!
Wow, i can't believe he got a ticket for those. It did look a little dull and obvious that he tinted them. i'm going to try the niteshades... hopefully it doesn't come out 'craptacular'
