Touchup paint for newbies
my titanium gray 8 has a few scratches near the door and just around the car in general. Some look like small chips where you just see white underneath. Some are very skinny longer streaks. I purchased a small tube of touchup paint from mazda, and this is my first time applying the paint. I used the small brush and a toothpick to apply the paint. I did 2 coats.
But this was a less-than-professional application. I just kinda tried to fill in the discolored spots. Is there some trick/process to doing small scratches with touchup paint, because i am faced with 2 issues now.
The larger scratch, you can tell pretty well that theres touchup paint there. The paint I put on appears darker than the paint on the rest of the car. I shook it well and did 2 coats.
However, I read that there is some kind of clearcoat that you are supposed to put over it. Is that what I am missing?
any advice on this subject would be appreciated. Thanks.
Also, I didnt sand anything because since they were such small scratches i didnt want to cause more damage.
