Two Toned my 8 over the weekend
Spent all weekend taping it up and sanding the crap outta it. i was gonna clear coat it but liked the satin look of the black alot more so i decided to just throw a bunch of extra coats on it. the black has a lil bit of green metallic in it but it looks good. cant notice the green metallic unless the paint is wet or the light catches jut right. still gotta wet sand the hood and buff it a bit. i had just clear coated the hood when i decided i liked the satin look more, and after wetsanding the clear off and repainting, i had a bit of a reaction on the hood. so im still trying to get that right and i also still have to pinstripe it. heres some pics of it still partially taped up. Try not to laugh at the taping job, my gf did most of the taping
PS sorry bout the tiny pics, thought my phone was set on a higher resolution

What kind of work did you do to paint it? I'm going to be painting my own lip kit here in a few months but am weary..I have a brilliant black and the parts should be ready for paint but. Meh, I like to hear from first hand experience rather then step 1 step 2, etc.

i know, in the beginning i was gonna clear coat but changed my mind. and the satin clear is a one step paint and chips REALLY easily, my dad knows all about that stuff. he tried the Jesse James Flat black and after the 3rd week it started chipping and cracking and he sprayed it on real thick too

it took 2 days sun up and sun down of just wet sanding with 1200 grit and it is a pain in the ***

yeah, its a cabinet shop. the base was gonna be put down there and i was gonna do the clear at a buddys paint shop up the road but i decided against the clear after clear coating the hood. it looks much better with a satin-ish look

Boomstick, pics. Warning: there's a few dry spots on the hood that i have to wet sand and spray again, its from the clear coat i sprayed on and didnt like. and i havent pinstriped it yet either
