Uncle bought me some rims... Well they're free.

So I was browsing the internet yesterday, When one of my friends showed me some rims(on ebay). They looked good on his Z. So I was browsing what else the seller had to offer then my uncle came behind me, and said 'Hey, thosw ould look good on your car. Buy them'. I explained to them theyre cheap and probably bend so if i'll save money and buy nice ones. He slapped his credit card and said 'buy them and use til you can buy better ones. You can always sell them'. I said ok not gonna argue. So I placed the bid and bought em. heres the stuff and I talked to the guy they'll fit with my Kuhmo SPTs fine. Total = $480.00 shipped.
Size 18 x 7.5
Bolt Pattern 5 x 100 & 5 x114.3

What is the offset? How much do they weigh? They are narrower than stock (18x8). If your uncle is willing to buy you a set of wheels, why just go with the first ones you see. At least look around and find some that are the same width or wider than stock.

Your right, But he HIMSELF liked the rims oddly. We looked around for a bit he stuck to these. Is that a problem for width ebing smaller then stock? Is that gonna effect performance?

buy them turn around and sell them... meh it's his money anyways. 480 shipped for a set of rims is rediculously cheap. I dont know much about rims, but i do know you get what you pay for.

Like toxin440 said, you get what you pay for. for 480 they are probably made out of iron and weigh 50lbs per wheel. .5 narrower rim isn't going to make a huge difference if you are using the same size tire, however you may get a bit more sidewall roll since they are on a different size rim. If you are just concerned about looks, then don't worry about it... they don't look bad, but you are most certainly looking at a performance downgrade.

I'm gonna have them installed when ever they get them and sell them right before the summer hits. I should have enough for the wheels and tires I want then. But til' then, I guess I won't speed or do anything like that while I have these on. Oh well, Theyre free.

Hey man what color is your car? Im sure these would look pretty good. Cheap or not its the thought that counts, if your uncle got em for you, no need to try to brush em off as "cheap" if your happy with em, that all that counts.
