personally i liked the Feed hood the best.

but i wud really like something like the Evo8 hood . basic hood with the air vents built in. perhaps the rotor could be the vent.

Feed is the sickest. I love that shot of the hood. I wonder how it looks from the front. Any way my vote is for Feed then Ings +1

I think the most important quesiton is how much are you willing to spend on such vented hood?

I would pay 500 for ms mirrors
so for a custom hood maybe 800 or 900 hundred unpainted

That's great for EVOr, but I really don't like that hood that's been posted here. I wouldn't shell out money for it. Now, for the SCOOT, RE Amemiya, or even the MS(?) hood I'd be willing to shell out 600-700 unpainted. If you build it, we will pay.....:D

Pathetic attempt at paraphrasing, but oh well.

Seriously, though, feel free to PM me when you have a hood ready to be bought, I have quick access to a body shop and a digi-camera just itchin' to take pics & post 'em up.

Since Vivid Racing hot-linked most of those photos from our website, you should know we have made those hoods for the 3rd Gen RX-7. We also have the stock style CF hood for the RX-8 already so that means we can custom mold those vents onto the RX-8 hood and make a mold. The ones that can be done are the knight sport style, Scoot style, RE Amemiya AD9 style, and Mazdaspeed style.

I don't want to say anything about prices here because Vivid opened the thread. I don't want to hi-jack it from here even though they are using photos from our website. :D I will open up another thread and post some prices. Thanks.

First I need to get responces from the forum members to see which one is worth selling and producing. Then I give them my hood and they start prototyping. Once that is done the production begins. I'm going to say about 2 months to produce the hoods because they will make a production run of about 20 pieces for the firt run.

Mazdaspeed.

Can anyone give a ballpark figure on what the price would be?

Also, how much lighter would the hood be than the stock hood?
The stock hood is pretty light as is so, I am just wondering about how many lbs. a custom vented hood would be.

Thanks!

Cool Alex.....

I will be buying one that looks just like the 'AlexCisneros" one.....
whoever makes it like that.

That is EXACTLY the design I envision for my '8.....keep the rotor indent, and add aggressive, large ports that shrink towards the windshield!

Awesome!
