Way to "simplify" the look of the RX-8?
We all know looks are subjective... to each his own. Now I absolutely love my 8--fundamentally its looks are breathtaking, just a classic shape.
One thing though is that I've always felt it looks a bit.... busy shall we say? Some people like all the rotary motifs everywhere. In my humble opinion, though, it's a bit overdone. I respect how they reflect all the engineering detail and the thought that went into the car, but I'd still prefer something cleaner. Some other threads have mentioned the front's semblance to an AM DB7; I totally agree, but think the busyness of the 8 detracts from the fundamentals it nailed, keeping it from ever entering the echelon of lasting classic designs.
So, any tricks for reducing the visual clutter? Obviously there's all manner of body kits out there, but how about we start with the stock car. I've looked at the car a lot, and realize it's difficult, but if there are any creative ideas out there for how to tone the car down, would be nice to know.

like you said to each his own, so really do what you have to do to make it look like the way you like it. I personally like the emblems of the rotary around the car. Mazda has a right to show off what they only can accomplish.

Not focusing in particular on the rotary symbols, just that the overall look of the car is somewhat busy. I know its vague, but just wondering if there are any who agree with me, if they've figured out ways of making the gestalt of the car look less busy.

IMO I really like the look of the tails when they're laminated in red. I haven't seen a color it looks bad on. I dont have any pictures on this computer, but here is a thread about it:
