What are the best break covers for an 8?
I am looking to get some Brembo brake covers for my 8, I don't know what size (or what to measure) I need to buy, I've done little research and they say I need to leave a certain distance between the pad and the rim (obviously) but I don't know how to look out for covers that will fit. Maybe the 8 can't handle brake covers, I just wanted to get some more opinions. Price range would need to be moderately low, around $700. Any advice?
I was looking into buying these:

I think this is the definition of a ricer mod. Anyway, it tells you right on the ebay posting:
minimum 15" wheel
minimum 1" from wheel to caliper housing
Since they are covers I would assume they mean measure from the part of the caliper thats facing you to the inner part of your rim that the brake cover would possibly bump into.

This is the most appropriate response to such a question.
Save your money and just buy an APC sticker...
Edit: I mean not to offendthe OP, but only to demonstrate the level of offense it would be to go through with such a plan.

Guys, guess what? I just got done putting 2 subs on my car! "Rice" away!! ha ha ha just kidding. But I did, and I love listening to dubstep with them.
Thanks for the help on the question! I really didn't know if I wanted to buy them or not so thanks for the advice. Can't wait to post another question! ha ha.

Wait till you need new pads and rotors... then take that 700 you were about to waste and buy actual brakes. I suggest stoptech, they're pretty cheap and a great modification.
That being said, all of our stock brakes are very, very good stock....

BTW - I was curious about what those things really cost, so I googled them. You can get imitation ones for $10. That would be a cheap way of seeing if all the naysayers are right. Most people who want some color down there just paint the calipers. I don't care for either, but it's just a matter of taste.

Ken, I think the difference is that paint shows a little bit of effort. It isnt easy to remove a caliper, clean it extensively, and paint it the right way - this is the easy way out. Plus, I would imagine that something like this would affect brake cooling (if only the ability of the caliper beneathe to radiate heat) and on top of all of that, it is a sad, sad way to make your car say "Brembo" for the safe of looking cool without the investment. You might as well use white rice and super glue to write "Brembo" on your stock rotors.
