what options are on your car?
manual or automatic? trim level? miles?
for under 2 grand you're not going to get a body kit, so get that idea out of your head
if it's a manual transmission i would suggest getting the axial flow engineering short shifter, best mod for the car hands down.

Good posts so I thought I would ask a quick question. I just got a manual 2009 R3 in Aurora Blue (who in their right mind buys at?). IMHO the car already looks slick as it is. All I care about is performance. (handling and torque more than HP)
Stock it already has bilstein shocks, urethane foam filled cross members, 19" wheels with Z rated tires, air dam, etc.
In terms of performance mods does everyone think the short shifter is the best starting place? I was thinking of getting the ECU re-flashed. Anything else people have done that they feel made a big difference?
Thanks,
Coppertop

All right,
thanks for the advice. I read some of the other threads, but a lot of the basic mods don't seem to be available for the R3s. It looked like the conversation was broadening from body kits, but whatever. Ill post on a different thread.
Have a good one.
