What color should I paint my MS Spoiler?

What color should I paint my MS Spoiler (Carsoption knockoff)?

When I look at all the North American cars on the road, the factories have painted the spoilers the same color as the car. To me, I think they did it that way because it is the cheapest way.

My opinion is that things like a spoiler and strakes should be accented by making them a different color.

I have Sunlight Silver and was considering making the strakes and back wing black like the rest of the trim on the car. Any opinions on this?

Just don't paint it red. I saw a sunlight silver car with a RED appearance pkg. I wish I had taken a picture, it would have made my Gallery of Comedy RX-8... :o

if you paint it black then it'll just look like you took the wing off of a black car and just stuck it on your car. now if it were carbon fiber, it would be a different story. have you thought about laying it with carbon fiber instead of painting it??

It is carbon fiber. Why is that any different as far as appearance is concerned?

If it is carbon fiber, leave it like that or paint it the same color as the car. A different color spoiler will make the car look cheap. Just my opinion.

Now that I have thought it over, I agree with you - painting it silver. I also ordered the stainess steel strakes from Great Briton today.

why the heck would you buy carbon fiber and paint it? You can buy the fiberglass one for half the price.

Don't bother - the car's silver right? We all know where silver 8's eventually end up...

Either that or paint it shocking pink so other dumbass drivers can actually see you!

Carsoption.com aside, here are a few reasons based on what I have read: (1) not in stock, (2) poor fit, (3) excessive shipping charges, (4) problems with aluminum mounts, (5) not as strong as CF.

what ?
since we are on the subject of rear ms style wings.I was asked to assist alex(bxb40 this week on his carbon fiber ms style wing from rotary extreme.and the fit was nuts, the mounts are nice and the spoiler is not fully carbonfiber its laided over fiberglass.but its a bitch to get it right.he ended up leaving the bottom peice of for now till he gets a shop to work on it.

now carsoption is by far the best place to get the ms style spoiler I have personally seen and heard.I have there wing
and there shipping is like 50 bucks,c/s is great and mounts are the same as the day i mounted it last may 04.

Yes, there shipping is cheap - $80 for me. Because I am going to get the wing painted, I'll let the body shop have the fun of putting it on.

Is there any kind of rubber mount between the wing and the trunk lid or does the wing sit right on the paint?

I like skirts in your picture but I am going to drive mine this winter after installing 17" rims and winter tires. Clearance will be an issue in the snow so I am not going to add any more body parts.

My foot always scuffs the plastic above the rocker panel when I get in and out of the car. Has anyone made a cover for this yet? I'm speaking about the highest point your foot has to clear in the driver's door opening which is above the rocker panel.
