Where to buy the 3M tape?

Pretty simple really...I think i'm gonna remove my side flare and see if I'm able to fix my gap problem i've talked of frequently...however, I haven't the slightest idea where to look to pick up some of this tape.

I'm simply looking for some of the same stuff used on the parts when I received them new. I believe it's 3M double-sided foam adhesive tape.

It doesn't look as if anyone at auto zone or advance auto has any, so where would I look for this?

Even though in all actuality, I question if I even need anymore. For all i know, the side skirts I installed 3 days ago may retain a good amount of adhesive.

Thanx in advance guys

3M or just a basic tape?

I talked to an autoshop today and they pointed me to a painters supply shop that supplies auto paint. If it's the same stuff at wally world though, I'm sure it'll be about 1/2 the cost of the stuff from a professional painters shop.

Thanx for the heads up though...might swing by on the way to work tonight :-)

Thanx guys...picked some up tonight from walmart. I'm gonna try and apply it tomorrow morning. It looks a little wider than the stock tape that came on it, so i wouldn't see any reason it wouldn't hold

Kragen and most Home Depot's sell the wider and "taller" 3m Tape. If you want real, low profile and thinner 3m, I'd go with ebay. I had to re-install one of my eyelids and used the Home Depot 3M tape at first. It was too "tall," that is, it made one eyelid higher than the other. So I had to remove it, again and this time I used some real low profile 3m tape from ebay. It was really thin, height-wise, and just as strong and weather proof.

Check it out: http://stores.ebay.com/AutoPainterSupply

Hope this helps?

+1 Wal-Mart

Bought 2 rolls at Wal-Mart today for $2.44 each. Scotch 3M brand, automotive trim adhesive tape. Great price for the real deal. YMMV.

yeah, i found that it is some pretty good tape, but may be a hair thicker than the stock tape that Mazda put on the flares to begin with.

Also a note to those who don't know, it adheres and sticks a lot better when warmed up with a blowdryer first. It makes the tape a lot more tacky.

Use a permanent marker to color the side that shows.

Here is some interior black double sided tape: http://www.autotoys.com/x/catalog/3M...CK_p_1256.html

I found that touch-up paint worked absolutely great. While it's not meant to be be an adhesive in any way, it does a great job of closing up the gap somewhat WHILE coloring any remaining tape that might have been showing.

It's pretty nice. I'll be sure to post some pics.
