Xentec HID Fog Lights

Xentec HID Fog Lights
I recently bought and had them installed by a buddy of mine a Xentec HID Fog Light kit. The bulb was H11, as said in my owners manual. During installation, my buddy inserted the new bulbs but they didnt fit. The Xentec's were too long. He noticed a small metallic piece, like a shade for a lamp? He was able to make the Xentec fit after bending the metallic piece forwards and down. I was happy to get the lights installed but am worried that those metallic pieces serve some sort of purpose. I was looking at the lights and couldn't help but notice they were bright AS HELL!! They look fantastic. But i have my concerns.
If anyone knows what those metallic pieces are for and what purpose they serve please let me know. And if I need to make any cosmetic changes, ei buying new foglight housing. would be much appreciated.

well seems as if you got the wrong stuff man. my hid fog light kit is from a brand called hipro power out of california and only cost me around 40 bucks. the h11 bulbs fit perfectly, so i am going to assume you got the wrong bulbs. would you mind posting up a picture of what you got?

Sounds like you just had to bend the reflector to make it fit. Some have had to do this to make the bulb fit and others have not. If you can post up a pic that would help, but it sounds like the reflector. It won't create any problems, but HIDs in reflector housings are dangerous for oncoming traffic. You will need to watch to see if you are blinding other drivers.
