$500 to spend on a system...suggestions?

im on a $500 budget and looking for a good sound system. im not looking for anything spectacular or trying to win any competitions but i do want as much bass as i can get for the price. i want something thatll last too..

i need an amp, sub(one or two), and a box that fits in the rx8 trunk for about 400 cuz im guessing installation is gona be about 100 at car toys or wherever i get it installed.

does anyone know anything good i can get with such a limited budget?

If you're going to somewhere like Car Toys, see what they recommend. My guess is you'll need about $800 or so for a single sub with an enclosure, an amp and a nice, clean installation.

Shop around, and do your reasearch.

I can't see your location, however I'm guessing that 500$ (750$ Can) is in US money. I live in Canada so all the dollar amounts are going to be in Canadian. You can get 10" entry level sub for about 100$ (Rockford, PG, Alpine, Clarion, Kicker or several other brands). I perfer RF. You can also by a prebuilt sub enclosure for about another 100 to 15o dollars that will drop into your trunk. Now all you need is a amp and get it installed. 300$ for a good entry level amp RF, PG, Sony...etc. That should leave you some for the install. Which should take no more than 2 hours tops.

for an entry level system with one woofer i would get the following:

1 JL Audio 10W0 (4ohm model) (budget $150)
1 MTX Thunder 311D amp (310 watts) (budget $150)
1 Properly sized ported enclosure (not a generic ported box) (shop around, not sure what your local shop will charge for a custom, ported box)
Wiring as needed (budget $100)

Id go with Rockford, JL, or Kicker. Good speakers for the price you pay for them.
