~Need Leather Seats Recommendations~
Hey whats up everyone. I've been a RX8 owner since September 03. It was so hard to get the exact car I wanted back then, so I settled for a Touring package. But after sitting in my friend's 8 with GT package, I realize how nice the leather seats are. Is it still possible for me to get leather? and if it is, please give me some suggestions as to where I should check out. Thanks alot..

I bought my RX8 just this January. It had everything I wanted, except leather seats. When the dealer asked me what it would take for me to but the car, I said "DUH- Leather seats!" So the dealer took it to a local custom leather shop as part of the contract. It came back really nice. Matching leather side panels and everything. And my own pick of custom color, makes it unique.
Bottom line is that a good custom leather shop should be able to do what ever you want with those seats, and do it well. I'm proof of that.

As for custom seats, there's a few old threads on the subject. If I recall, you can get a custom job done for about $900-$100, which includes the door inserts and full leather on all parts of the seats, even embroider the RX-8 logo under the rotory accent in the head rest..

Classic Soft Trim did mine. Also: Katzkin, the online retail site for them.
You can buy the leather and install yourself, if you know what you're doing. Otherwise, they link you to local shops that do the install. Prices seem to vary a lot. Some guys post around $1000, around here it was $1600 (with 2 colors & logos).
