OEM Sirius Satellite Radio Installed In My 2004 RX-8
I have a 2004 RX-8 that did NOT come with the SAT button. I was thinking of making a new thread for this, but here goes. I have the Mazda OEM satellite radio installed in my car now. Anyone who says it is not possible is dead wrong. Here's what you need:
new faceplate (highly recommend) p/n FE04-66-9H0 $462 retail
new head unit (don't have the p/n in front of me) $280 retail
Sirius kit $399 retail
Sirius install kit $11 retail
ALL that needs to be changed is the head unit and the face plate. Any 2004 RX-8 can be equipped with the satellite radio if these parts are ordered. It is absolutely no different from the 2005 RX-8 once these parts are installed.
Now, Mazda would not cover the cost for any of the parts for the 2004 RX-8. However, despite what the dealer says or even some customer service rep at Mazda, Mazda is legally obligated to upgrade at no cost any 2005 RX-8 that did not come with the SAT button. The reason is simple: since the car was advertised as having such, they must provide it. If they don't, they can be sued. If you have a 2005 without the SAT button and want satellite radio, fight for it! You are entitled to it.

Quick And Not To Dirty
I have velcro strip holding antenna to back window deck. Wire runs inside console trim strip to plug and play laying in front console. Power from console plug. I have Audiovox SP2 but JVC with red light looks nice. One year with no problems and 3 bar signal most of time. Sorry if everyone knows this already. $100 to $150 attractive to me over $1000 plus option.
