13w7

you could probably fit 2 in there, but i dont know where you would put the amps. trunk only has about 7.5 cubic feet of space, and the 13w7 requires 2.085 gross enclosure volume (not including the box material itself) per sub. that means that you only would have about 3 cubic feet of space for amps, and any other stuff (caps, batteries, interconnects, wires, etc). to run each sub, you would want to run a 1000/1 amp per sub, so when all is said and done, you might be able to put a spare quart of oil in the trunk.

i hate to say it, but if you are going for spl (which seems very likely to me asking about 13w7 or large subs), either you need to lose the back seat (seen one 8 done like that, ghetto, even though it was a nice install) or get a different car, like an excursion, expedition, suburban, etc. also, i could say stay away from jl, as they have really tried to screw over the customers that made them so popular to begin with.
i work at a specialty retailer, and we have carried jl audio for nearly 10 years, and recently decided to discontinue carrying the line, as they now have only a 90 day warranty for any sales over the counter, vs 1 year for authorized dealer installed.
i feel that they basically gave their customers the big number one salute.

It would be very difficult to fit two 13w7's. I have a 12w7 and that thing barely fits. I'm not even sure 1 would fit easily height wise. My box is only slightly taller than my 12w7 and it barely fits. I'm not saying its impossible by any means I'm sure it can be done. But I don't think it would be a direct drop in. You could maybe install it at an angle or something. But I have to tell you 1 12w7 is pretty damn loud. I couldn't take it any louder and I don't even push myne that hard.

same quality as before, no real new innovations. just reusing same old technology, bringing out all the "v2" subs. and the whole "w" cone thing on the w7 that they brag about, was actually used around the early 1900's if i remember correctly.

Well I didn't use the exact dimensions because they wouldn't fit. It is the recommended 1.375 cu.ft air space though. The outside dimensions are actually slightly larger to account for the air space from the magnet and the internal bracing inside the box. I was careful to get the box very close to the recommended size.

If you wanted to put the drivers in the proper sized box, and keep your back seat it would be very difficult. You definitly would have absolutely zero trunk left. It would require some creative thinking, but probably possible. It would definitly require a FG Box.
Really though, 1 12w-7 is ridiculous. I've never had a system before that I had to turn down because it was too loud, but with my W-7 I often have to turn it down becuase my ears start hurting. And I've had many systems over the years, here's a breakdown for comparison purposes.
2 12" kicker comps
2 12" kicker VR comps
2 12" jlaudio w-4
2 12" jlaudio w-1
None of these were ever as loud as my 1 W-7. And my W-7 is in a sealed box, but it in a ported and I can't begin to imagine how loud it would be. Although I have been considering doing that for a while now, but it would require a fiberglassed box to fit.

1. FG doesn't have to be as thick to obtain the same rigidity as MDF so you save space that way.
2. With FG the box can contour to the trunk. With MDF you can only build rectangles so a lot of space is wasted.

the right tools, for a good quality box would be:
MDF
good table saw
wood glue
finish nail gun
hole saw
drill motor
router with circle jig.
