Unhappy 6-disc changer problems!?!?

What's up everyone? I've had my 8 since June and I just recently encountered my first problem. I went to eject my CD's from the changer this weekend to throw in something new and none of the discs will eject. I can still listen to all 6 cd's, but when I try to eject one, it makes this clicking sound and the display where the cd information is just goes blank. This is a blatant warranty issue and shouldn't be a problem getting fixed without a hassle, right? Well, it would be if the dealerships in St. Louis weren't on strike. They're not fixing sh#t right now. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered similar problems with their changer. Let me know. Thanks!

I got mine secondhand from Murph and it has worked fine since I had it installed. Hope it isn't a big deal getting it fixed. Good Luck!

call MNAO 1-800-222-5500. ask them for the closest dealer that can take care of it and is actually working. they're all on strike? that's friggin weird.

Thumbs up

Sounds like a warranty problem. Take to dealer and have it fixed.

If you haven't already "dug" your cd's out, The two screws that hold the mech inside its chassis (in front) are too tight and will not allow the shutter door to open all the way. If you are trying to resolve this problem yourself, you would need to remove HU, remove cd module and loosen (NOT remove) - loosen those two screws . If you goto dealer for warranty, don't blame them for a national backorder for this item.

National backorder? Is there a high failure rate with the 6-CD changer?

I wouldn't say a high failure rate - a lot of vehicles out there with this mech (not just RX-8), not a lot of extra units for service.
