Able to get MP3 cd player?

When I got my RX8, it came with the stock CD player. Am I able to go to a dealer and buy the 6 CD changed or MP3 playing CD player from them and have them install it or is there anyway I would be able to do that? If so how and around how much do you think it'd cost?

If you go to www.mazdausa.com and check out RX8 accessories, I think you will find what you want.

Quick question for those who do have the Mp3 player installed, are you able to search by folders or do you have to go song by song? Because on my aftermarket deck in my old car, I was able to put albums in their folders and then just select the album and it would play that album.

Yes, it allows you to search by album, etc. I just installed mine about a week ago. I found another member here that had one for sale for $180. It really was a challenge to change. I don't guess it was all that difficult, just a lot of bolts and screws.

$325...gosh Mazda, you are RIPING people off...BIG TIME!

An aftermarket radio for that price can drive the car, take out the trash, and shot CD's at a high rate to hurt a would be car theif. I wanted the mp3 but at that price it's just not worth it...I THINK anyway.

I'm kind of disapointed in Mazda regarding the price.

You can search by folders if you know in what order the folders are, it does not display the folder names all it shows is CD1, CD2,CD3 etc when you move between them. The MP3 deck is not that great for the money, I just got it because it held more music than the 6 disc changer, it has it's quirks but it works well enough.

You can get it from Trussville Mazda or one of our forum advertisers for much less than retail, install it yourself, and save a bundle.
