Adding an Aux input to the stock 04 head unit? I searched...
I'm sure it's out there, but I don't know what I'm looking for.
I have an 04 with the bose system. I'm wanting to add an Aux input to the stock system w/o spending a fortune. My main reason for wanting to do this is iPod/iPhone integration. I'd also like to be able to tie my laptop audio out and XM radio audio out to it.
I think I've seen something where the Tape input is modded and used, is this correct?
I don't want to spend a fortune on this since I'll eventually be adding the Metra kit and installing my stereo-in-waiting. $50'ish wouldn't be too much to ask though. FM transmitters are out of the question. Even the expensive ones suck in my area.
I did find the DIY from way back when where the guy soldered into his CD inputs. I don't want to do this because it requires the silence CD. I'd like an install that's a little 'cleaner' than that.

dunno about the XM... but you can get an AudioLink for the ipod integration.
