Aftermarket NAV speed sensor wire?

What are you guys hooking the speed sensor wires up to? I am about to drop a AVIC-Z2 in my Corksport Kanatechs double din unit.

I looked at your install, but I didn't see a mention of the speed sensor wire. Maybe I am not doing a good search, but I have tried a few and couldn't find what I was looking for. I had no idea you were so close.

alright alright... don't twist me arm...

its in the main harness of the HU and it's green and red but there is not a wire in corksport harness to connect to - so you have to cut the main wire and connect it youself. (unless they have changed that which i'm betting they did not.)

oh yeah and for anyone buying the AVIC Z1 or Z2 - make sure you go to www.avic411.com to get bypass instructions - since you have to ground some wires anyways it's easier to do it right out the of box.

Ok, thanks for that and not doubting what you saw, but can you give a bit more help please? Here are diagrams of the head unit connectors etc, and I don't see a R/G wire in either of the C1-01 connectors. Before I go pulling the car apart I want to be sure what I'm looking for. Thanks again.

Those are diagrams for the dashboard - the VSS wire is in the harness thats connected to the Radio

here is a link to where i got my info https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-interior-audio-electronics-24/2004-2006-mazda-rx-8-wire-colors-locations-114757/

and looking back at the instructions for the corksport kit (3rd to last page and on the top of the last page) I think the corksport harness that plugs into the main harness does have a wire for it.. it's pink - just connect that to your new head unit and you should be good

Has anyone taken a 'scope to that VSS wire to see what the signal looks like?

The OE speedo reads 3 to 4 MPH high.

I need to reinstall everything on my 2008 but I remember the install on my 2005 was very easy and everything worked as it should. You just need to look at the wiring diagrams in the Corksport instructions, your HU, and the basic wiring harness for the stock 8 - which is available in many places online. The most "difficult" thing was running a wire back to the reverse light when I did mine which is probably totally unnecessary.

Bri is right - if you aren't going to add a reverse cam there is no reason to connect the reverse wire.
