amp inputs?

I ran all my wires and powered up my amps. I have one small problem, there's no where to hook up the amp RCA wires. There aren't any inputs in the factory deck. Has anyone solved this problem yet?

No factory radios have RCA outputs on them. You will need a Line-Output Converter. (2 if you are running a 4-channel amp) The most popular of which is made by PAC, called the SNI-35. There are other (cheaper) units available from Rockford, Metra, American International... basically every stereo shop has them for $20 or less. If your car has the Bose system, you will want to hook up the RCAs at the amplifier, not at the radio.

actually the far better way to do it is to use an active LOC (vs passive) like those offered by Soundgate, Linear Control, etc.... and tap it pre-amp

your very unlikely to find one of any quality for anywhere near $20

there are very technical discussions around here(in a sticky i think) about why

unless of course you dont care about your headunit

If you're just adding subwoofers, an active LOC is a little over kill IMO. Just get the basic $20 one and tap right off the rear speakers.

+1 to this. its very simple to do, especially if you have the base radio instead of bose.

i had this setup for a couple years now. it sounds very good. i've had people ask if they were still the stock speakers it sounded so good.
