Amp install ???s
First post, so be gentle...
Installed Rockford Fosgate 6x8 components in the front (base stereo). Greatly improves the sound. I've got some 2 way 6x9s (also RF) ordered for the back.
I'd like to add an amp to run the fronts and a sub. My question is: from where should I cut into the front speaker wires to pull a speaker level input? I looked around under the dash and I think I can get to the driver's side wires. The passenger side seems a little more difficult. Also, should I go through the trouble of routing new speaker wire from the amp all the way to the front speakers, or attach them to the existing speaker wires under the dash (prior to the junction in the door). Any help is appreciated...

Ok, you are scaring me. Consider this, this vehicle is a real PITA to work on, weigh the chance of potential damage vs. the cost of installation and repair vs. the cost of having it done by a professional. Sadly I am one of the professionals that sees this type of thing every day. I also know this car. Run new wires direct to the speakers, the door molex's must be pulled apart and drilled out for the new wires to go through, then reassembled. Have fun if you are going to try this. If you are mechanically inclined, you should have no problems here, if you are not one with a drill, have it done for you as one slip of the bit can cause a major electrical problem in the power window, mirror or lock circuits.
You need an interface adaptor to integrate into the facotry audio system, the device for you to use is the Audio Control LC6. This will afford you the proper integration device and multiple outputs for up to 6 channels, front, rear and sub.
I recommend that you do a search or read all of the audio threads in this forum as the information that you seek has already been asked about and replied to.
