amp installation with bose stereo

amp installation with bose stereo

i've been doin some reading and have completed my sub/amp installtion all accept for the rca's running into the amp.

do i just tap the set of rca's directly to the rear speaker wires before they enter the bose amp? and than run them to the amp that is powering the sub? or do i need a line converter for this?

just a bit confused is all

You need a line convertor, preferably a proper one like the Audio Control LC6i + bass remote.

it would work For about a day until you fried the output stage of your head unit i suppose. I had better luck with a JL cleansweep then I did my Audiocontrol LC7. But once you get a LOC in and replace all the speakers you're going to want an EQ. Any device that taps into the signal lines before the Bose amp in the trunk of the car needs to be able to handle a low level, differential signal, and that means a LOC for the most part.

thanks socket7 it's starting to make more sense now.

i had it all hooked up and was getting no sound at all coming from the sub/amp.

but i could hook speakers to the lines and it worked fine.
so i'm guesssing the LOC would fix this?

picked up an LOC and still getting no sound from sub.

perhaps the amp is no blown?

turns out it was a bad amp. borrowed one from a friend and it worked like a charm.

I want to install a eclipse amp...what things i will need ? and can i use the stock speakers, i have the boss system in my car.
