Amp/sub install
I installed my old 8" Bazooka and Bostwick 2100 amp this weekend. All in all a very simple install, other than running the power. I admit I got sick of trying to find a good location to go through the fire wall. I ended up just running it through a factory grommet in the passenger side door pillar. Red car, red wire, don't even notice it as it passes into the fender. Ground was simple in the rear, however, I lost time and patiance and ended up just connecting a secondary lead from the speaker wire to the REM on the amp. Everything sounds fine, much better actually and it being free helped alot, but what, if any problems, could using a speaker feed for the REM cause?

The voltage fluxuations on that can't be good for the amp. I don't know what problems it might cause, other than the amp shutting off periodicially when the music level to that speaker is low. Tapping into the acc socket in the middle console really isn't difficult to do...

I see what ya'll are saying, but there has been no ill effect. I was under the assumption that all the REM did was let the amp to know to turn on. Even with the volume all the way down the amp is on. If I burn up the amp no big deal, it's 7 years old. Thanks for the comments though.
